Hamilton Handpan

My name is Shalom Shore, I'm a classically trained musician who fell in love with the beautiful sounds of the Handpan (also known as a Hang Drum). I love sharing this magical instrument with others, and would love to be a part of any event or social gathering that would be enhanced by its sound.

Handpans have an otherworldly quality to them that grabs people attention - many people have never seen this instrument in real life! I can also include ambient classical guitar improvisation in my performance.

What is a handpan?

The handpan is a relatively new instrument, invented in the early 2000s. It is traditionally made of steel that is hand hammered by a craftsman into a specific set of notes - handpans are unique in that they are percussive and also pitched to specific scales.

The unique shape of the instrument results in resonant and harmonic overtones that are unlike any instrument.  Mine is tuned to D Kurd and crafted in Hamilton by Luc Dupuis of PeacePans.
