Childhood + Teens

Jewish Schools

Born and raised in the Old City of Jerusalem. Went to a shitty Ultra Orthodox Jewish all boys school with violent teachers and no secular education.

Attended 5 different high schools in an attempt to “Find my place”. Didn’t. The subject of my memoir and many therapy sessions.

Social Worker

Wanted to join the artilery but bad eyesight prevented it, ended up as a social worker in an Orthodox all-male unit (the irony). Visited the homes of over 30 soldiers and their parents, and facilitated the distribution of half a million Shekel in benefit funds.

During this period I earned a Bachelor’s degree from online university Excelsior college, by converting my years of religious studies into academic credits.

Rabbinical Ordination + Psychology Studies

Jersualem Kollel

Went on to fulfill what I hoped was my parent’s dream for me and studied Rabbinical law for a year. Scraped by with a rabbinical certificate, which they probably now regret giving me.

Also studied clinical sociology with a satellite of the University of North Texas, but dropped out after trying to pass statistics three times taught by an asshat teacher.

Attended private training in hypnotherapy with Rabbi Efym Svirsky, which was far more beneficial; started private practice, teaching workshops and working with individuals.

My first job! Working for my father’s online educational video company, running social media accounts, creating blog posts and scripts for short educational and promotional videos.

Wrote a six part documentary series on Jewish leadership, featuring the Chief Rabbi of England Sir Jonathan Sacks, and Big Bang theory actress Mayim BIalik.

Helped write a feature length documentary film When The Smoke Clears about wounded Israeli solderi’s path to recovery.

Worked on company’s website, defining the UX for a gamified classroom portal.

Engaged in some of my funnest extra curricular projects during this time, and started dabbeling in web design.
